Privacy policy

What we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We're a small UK publication and we keep data collection deliberately minimal.

Who we are

ineedcloud is a trading style of Actuality One Limited, a private limited company registered in Scotland (Company No. SC371966). Actuality One Limited is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). For data-protection enquiries, email privacy@ineedcloud.com.

What we collect

We try to collect as little personal data as possible. In practice, that means:

  • Newsletter signup: the email address you provide. Sent via Web3Forms to our inbox; when a dedicated newsletter platform is connected, we will store your address there so we can send updates.
  • Contact form: name, email, and the message body. Sent via Web3Forms to our inbox; retained for as long as needed to handle your enquiry.
  • Server logs: our hosting provider keeps short-lived access logs (IP, timestamp, requested URL) for security and abuse prevention. We don't read these for marketing.
  • Analytics: aggregated, anonymous usage stats — only if you've opted in via the cookie banner. See our cookie policy.

Lawful bases

Under UK GDPR Article 6, we rely on:

  • Consent — for the newsletter and any non-essential cookies.
  • Legitimate interests — for handling correspondence you initiate and basic security logging.

Sharing

We don't sell your data. Limited processors are involved in running the site — the hosting provider, Web3Forms, Google Analytics if you opt in, and any future newsletter provider — and each is bound by its own data-processing terms. We don't run advertising or behavioural targeting.

International transfers

Some processors we use, including Web3Forms and Google, may process personal data outside the UK or EEA. Where that happens, we rely on their published data-processing terms and transfer safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, as applicable.

Retention

Newsletter requests persist until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Contact-form messages are kept for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to our processing of your personal data. Email privacy@ineedcloud.comand we will respond within 30 days.

Where we rely on consent — for the newsletter and optional analytics cookies — you can withdraw that consent at any time. Use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email, email us, or reopen your choices from the cookie policy.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Changes

If we materially change this policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify newsletter subscribers.
